Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM (30-minute break)
Salary: £26-37 per hour (depending on experience)
Band: 7/8a (depending on experience)
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our clients NHS Hospital pharmacy team, supporting surgery and acute medicine wards. This position is a great opportunity for a dedicated pharmacist with solid hospital experience, and for the right candidate, there is potential for contract extension beyond the initial 3-month period.
The role will require someone with a keen understanding of hospital ward-based pharmacy services and the ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for managing the pharmaceutical care of patients, contributing to ward rounds, and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide clinical pharmacy services across surgery/acute medicine wards.
2. Review patient medication histories, assess clinical data, and make recommendations for therapy adjustments.
3. Participate in ward rounds and communicate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care.
4. Provide expert advice on drug therapy and medication management.
5. Dispense medications and oversee their appropriate use, ensuring patient safety.
Key Requirements:
1. Essential: Experience in hospital wards, particularly in surgery or acute medicine.
2. Desirable: Clinical diploma (preferred for Band 8a candidates).
3. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
4. Ability to work under pressure and manage a varied caseload.
5. Ability to start ASAP in February 2025.
Salary:
1. Band 7: £26-30 per hour.
2. Band 8a: £30-37 per hour (depending on experience).
