Steward Handy Person (Night Shifts) Location: Compton Care. Wolverhampton, WV3 9DH Hours: 37.5 hours per week plus on call (Part time hours will be considered) Salary: £22,824 (Pro-rota for part time, Band 3) What we do At Compton Care we deliver care to people who have been diagnosed with a life limiting or end of life condition. Established for over 40 years, we provide specialist care to patients, and support for their families, helping them to navigate every aspect of life with a life limiting condition. What will you do? Working on a night shift between the hours of 10.00pm and 06.30am, as a Steward Handy Person at Compton Hall, you'll part of our friendly estates team. This team provides a stewarding service to the organisation including key support to clinical services and all other disciplines. You will also be responsible in the completion of general maintenance program at all Compton sites and grounds, which will include, actioning and completing minor repairs and other maintenance PPM work as necessary. You will participate in and comply with all current Health and Safety legislation including managing flushing/testing/inspections/audits. You will make deliveries as requested using a company vehicle and you will be responsible for the receipt and movement of all mail and equipment including sundry items for distribution as requested. In addition, as a key holder you will control opening and lockdown of the site as appropriate to the shift. This will include being actively involved in all fire coordination requirements. You will also participate in the ‘on-call’ duties that may include out of hours site visits to deal with plant failure and issues that need immediate attention. What we want you to bring. Ideally you will have experience in a similar role, but this is not essential. You will need to hold a full driving licence and be confident with driving passengers and goods between sites. You will have great communication skills with the ability to build good customer relations. You will need to be organised and be able to prioritise a competing workload and be a good timekeeper. The role will require some manual handling so you must be able to carry out manual handling in line with training. The role will require shift work and some ‘on-call’ duty so you will need to be flexible in the hours you can work across a seven-day service.
