Salary: £27,300 - £32,533 + London weighting £5,319 pro rated depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
Contract type: Permanent role - Part-Time (14 hours). The hours will fall on a Saturday and Sunday 5am - 1pm.

BBC Radio London has a vacancy for a talented newsreader to join our weekend team. We are looking for an instinctive journalist who will thrive in the busiest news patch in the country, and who has the voice and writing skills to cut through and make an impact in the capital city.
Main Responsibilities
This is a weekend newsreader role and the successful candidate will be the voice of news on Radio London on a Saturday and Sunday.
You will also:
* Need to be able to use a range of video, audio and digital equipment and information technology to research, write, assemble, edit and deliver outputs in the appropriate medium, to the highest professional standards.
* Be required to present the content on radio, TV or online. This might be live or recorded.
* Need to be able to exercise editorial judgment in developing story ideas and producing accurate and impartial journalism.
* Be required to undertake pre- and post-production and studio work, live and pre-recorded.
* Need to liaise closely with other team members and with other departments in the BBC, to ensure that output material is shared, duplication is avoided, and best practice is upheld.
* Take the lead within a team setting or on delivering a specific piece of journalism or project as appropriate.
* Tailor different news treatments for different audiences ensuring that the output reflects the audiences we serve.
* Need to prioritise and plan activities taking into account all the relevant issues and factors such as deadlines, staffing and resources available.
* Delivering to tight deadlines while maintaining the highest editorial standards.
Are you the right candidate?
* Significant experience as an on air newsreader with a strong broadcast voice.
* Excellent bulletin writing skills.
* Sound editorial judgement.
* Confident working knowledge of media law and BBC editorial guidelines.
* Significant knowledge of London news and market.
* An understanding of the core purpose of BBC Local Radio and the audience we serve.
* Be organised and meticulous.
* Ability to work under pressure and understand the changing demands of our audience.
