For the UK Government, maintaining National Security is a 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year mission. To support these complex operations, the MoD partners with this Firm to empower critical thinking and drive value across its strategic initiatives and technology investments.
The Role:
The Enterprise Infrastructure Team seeks an exceptional Infrastructure Engineer to take a lead role in the design and delivery of a critical OS upgrade implementation - transitioning from Windows Server 2012 to 2019/2022.
Reporting directly to the Technical Design Authority, you’ll work closely with SMEs in infrastructure, applications, and networking to produce high and low-level design documentation, ensure the platform meets all security requirements, and manage the provisioning process for Windows Server builds.

Essential Requirements:
• Clearance: Must hold SC clearance with eligibility for Developed Vetting (DV); sole UK Single Nationals only.
• Technical Expertise: Strong systems/software engineering background, with experience in Windows Server 2019/2022, Windows 10, and automated deployments using MECM/SCCM.
• MOD Knowledge: Familiar with MOD IT systems, applications (GOTS/COTS), and security policies (JSP440, 480, 604).
• Scripting & Virtualization: Proficient in PowerShell, VBScript, and virtualization technologies, with HyperV design and VM provisioning (vSphere/ESX is a plus).
• Deployment & Automation: Ability to develop automated strategies for multiple Windows Server builds, manage MECM/SCCM, and configure firewalls, GPOs, and Microsoft Certificate Authority (CA) solutions.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure compliance with CESG, DISA STIGs, and security requirements.
• Agile: Confident working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Documentation: Skilled in producing high/low-level design docs, transition plans, and user guides.

• Base Salary: Up to £60,000 (DoE)
