POSITION SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this role is to lead all warehousing, inventory management, and material movements between manufacturing sites in Canada and third-party warehouses. This includes meeting operational KPIs, managing costs, optimizing third-party usage, and developing continuous improvement initiatives.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performance Management
* Develop 3-year goals and strategy for the Plant Logistics Organization based on manufacturing goals and industry benchmarks.
* Define key KPIs for warehousing operations to achieve cost and cash goals.
* Engage internal warehousing team and 3PL interfaces to drive strategy to action.
* Create/monitor operating budgets for warehousing operations across the Canada Manufacturing campus.
* Maintain compliance with corporate and government policies.
* Build strong relationships with third-party leaders.
* Lead a group of 40+ employees and contractors in warehousing operations.
* Define needed Plant Logistics organization structure and capabilities.
* Develop and drive high-performance organizational culture.
* Strive for continuous improvement through the adoption of Operational Excellence programs.
* Support the integration of new technologies within warehousing and logistics.
* Lead digital transformation initiatives within warehousing and logistics operations.
Change Management and Innovation Delivery
* Collaborate with operations and planning teams to drive process changes.
* Create an innovation culture and Kaizen systems.
* Develop and monitor Business Continuity Plans for operations.
Standard Management
* Role model safety standards and champion for zero safety incidents.
* Role model compliance and raise the bar on daily standard management.
* Role model perfect quality culture.
* Role model the 5S standard every day.
Qualifications
Minimum Education Level: Tertiary Degree
Minimum Years of Experience: 7 years
Additional Job Specifications: This position has multi-site responsibility within Canada. Ability to travel autonomously between sites is required.
