FESTIVAL OPERATIONS MANAGER The role is part time and would also be suitable for a freelance contract Overview: Originally founded in 1998, it was a birthday party that got out of control. Dubbed the “UK’s most warped village fête”, Truck is a three and a half day celebration of music and entertainment with a unique community spirit. Scope of Work: Working with the Senior Operations Manager (SOM) to ensure all operational plans for the event are in place. More specifically this will include but may not be limited to the areas outlined below: Alongside the SOM liaise between the broader operations departments (Site & Production) and broader Festival Team (Promoter/Artist booking/Marketing/Sponsorship/Ticketing/Finance) to ensure plans are aligned. Ensure agreed project timelines and deadlines are followed, flagging foreseeable issues with relevant members of the team as they arise. Manage and coordinate key operations contractors, including but not limited to security, medical, welfare, and traffic management, to ensure seamless, safe, and efficient festival operations Work with the SOM on budget management and coordination Support the Senior Operations Manager with Event Management Plans and SAG and management of the broader ops teams. Acquire and oversee contractors & suppliers associated with the festival operations budget lines. Ensure procurement, purchase ordering, approval and payments processes are followed. Support the SOM on liaison with the broader festival teams on bar, trader, sponsor operations and to facilitate requirements & ensure recharges are reconciled. Liaise with the Artist Liaison Manager to ensure relevant plans are in place. Working with Site Manager, broader Festival departments and other teams to ensure that the site plan works for all. Coordinate safety processes as directed by the Senior Operations Manager. Oversee post event debriefing & reconciling process across ops teams. Collating and administrating operational requirements and facilities from the broader festival department and contractors. Qualifications 3 years proven experience in festival operations management in a similar, fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Demonstrated experience managing and coordinating key operations contractors, including security, medical, welfare, and traffic management. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands effectively. Adaptable and proactive, with a quick grasp of processes, demonstrating a keen willingness to learn, grow, and swiftly apply new knowledge to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Proven ability to multitask and make sound decisions under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with individuals at all levels in the organisation. Proven experience in budget management, vendor management, and logistics coordination. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications. Collaborate seamlessly within a dynamic team environment. This role is based between the Central London office and working from home. The role will then be based on site for the build and show.
