Learning & Development Trainer
Location: Hybrid working, Worthing
Perm/FTC: Permanent
Hours: 37 hrs
Salary: Up to £39,500 based on experience
Southern Water is seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Learning & Development Trainer to join our L&D team. This role involves designing and delivering learning & development interventions, processes, and systems to support Southern Water's vision. The trainer will influence, challenge, and drive the achievement of business strategies by enabling staff to feel connected, informed, and motivated, thereby fostering high performance through a range of leadership and management development programs.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Embedding L&D initiatives and action plans within the business, supporting objectives and key results, and building collaborative relationships with stakeholders and People Partners.
2. Designing and delivering business-wide learning interventions (excluding leadership development), including onboarding, induction, mandatory training, behavioral training, and key processes.
3. Managing the L&D onboarding process in coordination with Talent Acquisition and People Hub to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new starters.
4. Providing coaching to employees to develop their performance and behaviors.
5. Conducting learning needs analysis, measuring success, evaluating programs, and reporting insights.
Qualifications and skills required:
1. Problem-solving skills: Providing solutions to challenges.
2. Analytical skills: Evaluating the financial success of training schemes and maintaining a commercial focus.
3. Influence: Persuading middle management to support L&D initiatives.
4. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Planning and organizational skills, including event coordination.
6. Content design and facilitation expertise.
7. Initiative-taking ability, responsibility for decisions.
8. Excellent collaboration with stakeholders.
9. Knowledge of current HR issues and evidence of CPD.
10. Experience in designing, implementing, and managing learning & development activities.
