About the role:
We’re proud to offer nearly 200 products in our Love Local range which includes tasty treats from our very own Gadsbys Bakery in Southwell. Gadsbys has been kneading, mixing and baking for over 50 years! From bread rolls to Bakewell tarts, all our delicious products are made with passion, pride, fingers and thumbs. You'll find our range on the shelves of stores from Liverpool to Grimsby, Sheffield to Peterborough, and in all our Lincolnshire Cooperative food stores!
As the driving force behind getting our freshly baked products to their customers, our Gadsbys Drivers take care and pride in delivering orders on time and in great condition. Going the extra mile with a helpful and friendly approach to the businesses we work with and the team you’ll work alongside, this is a hands-on role that will get you behind the wheel and out on the open road. You will be:
1. Carrying out vehicle safety and temperature checks to make sure your van is ready for deliveries and safe to be on the road
2. Carefully loading, storing, and unloading freshly baked goods in and out of your vehicle
3. Keeping on top of food hygiene and safety requirements
4. Completing required paperwork and checklists
5. Cleaning and servicing your van ready for the next delivery
For this role it is essential that you have a full clean category B manual licence, and the hours you will be required to work are night shifts from Sunday through to Friday 00:00am - 07:00am.
About You
Are you a reliable and dependable person who excels at teamwork and organisation? Then we’d love to hear from you! We’re not just looking for previous experience (though that would be a fantastic bonus), we’re interested in you and what you can bring to the role! You’ll need to have a full manual driving licence and show us:
1. A careful and safe method of handling deliveries
2. An understanding and appreciation for food safety and hygiene
3. Flexibility to embrace change with the creativity and problem-solving skills necessary to overcome challenges
4. That you can work effectively and efficiently as part of a diverse team and communicate well with others. That you are someone who is eager to build relationships with colleagues to add to the friendly team spirit in our bakery, celebrating success and encouraging development.
