The post holder will be an integral member of the pharmacy clinical informatics team. To be a subject matter expert, utilising specialist pharmacy experience and knowledge to support development, optimisation and ongoing maintenance of the CareFlow Medicines Management system (CMM), the Phillips ICCA IT system and future EPMA systems used by the Trust.
You will project-manage & drive change implementation, proactively address challenges, create robust standard operating procedures and be a subject matter expert in electronic prescribing and stock control products as required.
Main duties of the job
1. Work with the Lead EPMA Pharmacist and EPMA implementation team to deliver EPMA systems across all areas at UHBW.
2. Work with the Lead EPMA pharmacist to maintain and develop EPMA systems at UHBW.
3. Contribute to the management and allocation of tasks within pharmacy informatics to ensure a consistent service level agreement is met.
4. Provide operational day to day management of the electronic prescribing systems clinical configuration and pharmacy stock control systems.
5. To develop Pharmacy Informatics services as needed, including developing the skills and competencies of Pharmacy Informatics staff.
6. To contribute to and support the performance monitoring of the Pharmacy Informatics service and developing optimisations within core competencies.
Person specification
Qualifications & Training
* Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Final accuracy-checking accreditation
* Knowledge of pharmaceutical services obtained through formal study in pharmaceutical science, as approved by the GPhC; plus theoretical study and practical experience of managing staff, resources and additional knowledge to post-graduate diploma or equivalent level
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Management or leadership course completed
* Membership of the British Computer Society
Knowledge & experience
* Recent UK hospital pharmacy experience as a pharmacy technician in a range of roles within pharmacy
* Experience working with digital clinical systems
* Knowledge of the legal framework for the dispensing, prescribing and administering of medicines
* Experience in project leadership
