Rate ofPay: 284.97 360.00 perDay
Responsibilities:
* To investigate consumer complaints and advisecomplainants of their rights and responsibilities under the civiland criminal law to contribute to an informed and educated localcommunity.
* To liaise and work with partners(including outside contractors) and other organisations on a localnational or international level as necessary. To participate insuch groups as developed by the Service which enable the flexiblecreative and challenging delivery of the Trading StandardsService.
* Support motivate and train officers ofthe Service (including students) and where necessary supervise suchofficers to enable them to effectively carry out their duties andwhen necessary deputise for the Senior Trading Standards Officer intheir absence.
* To undertake the duties requiredby legislation to be performed by a Weights and Measures Inspectorin order to assist the Council in meeting its statutoryobligations. To adopt the role of authorised food officers underthe Food Safety Act and associatedlegislation.
* To manage and act as a leadofficer for the Service in nominated specialist areas includingmonitoring the relevant budget and producing project work actionplans and reporting performance in a timelymanner.
Qualifications:
* Diploma In Trading Standards (orequivalent)
* Be qualified to enforce Food SafetyLegislation
* Be qualified to performthe duties of a Weights and MeasuresInspector
Experience:
* Willhave experience of working in a TS environment for a period of 12months
* Proven record of working with consumersand businesses to resolve disputes/securecompliance
* Will have investigated andreported on breaches of TS legislation
