The Financial Accountant will be joining a talented team who are responsible for the accurate reporting of the Group's financial performance and position internally and externally and will have involvement with the ERP implementation, improved reporting and analytical tools and the continued drive for process improvement.
Your new role
The Financial Accountant will have responsibility for the timely and accurate production of the legal entity financial and monthly management accounts, monthly reporting, VAT returns, budgeting and forecasting and analytical review.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of monthly financial statements for reporting to the Group and board in line with reporting requirements.
* Monthly review of budgeting and forecasting with analysis and commentary.
* Analysis and liaison with key stakeholders on the analytical review of variances.
* Monthly accounting which includes cashbook postings, loans and interest calculations, month end revaluations and the month end close process including agreement of intercompany balances.
* Preparation of Statutory accounts for entities in line with IFRS reporting.
* VAT returns.
* Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
* Preparation of consolidated accounts under IFRS.
* Year-end management and liaison with auditors, group and other professional bodies.
* Point of contact for technical accounting matters with up-to-date knowledge of new accounting standards under IFRS and FRS 102 and disclosure requirements.
* Proactively drive the continuous improvement of processes, controls and reporting.
* Support on ad hoc projects relating to the Group's finance systems and processes.
What you'll need to succeed
Requirements:
* Qualified Accountant with strong technical accounting skills and ability to work to deadlines.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Confident communicator with the ability to liaise at all levels.
* Experience of preparing Statutory Accounts under UK GAAP and IFRS.
* Take ownership of work and be accountable to the stakeholders.
* Excellent communication skills, spoken and written and to be able to effectively build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills.
* Strong systems and IT skills.
