Food & Beverage Operations Manager

The Food & Beverage Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Food & Beverage department ensuring the highest standards of service, quality, and efficiency are met. This role is crucial in maintaining the Bankside experience we are known for while managing Art|Yard, events and the bar as well as coordinating with other hotel departments, and leading the team to achieve operational excellence.
What do we expect from you?
* Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of Art|Yard, ensuring seamless service delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
* Team Management: Lead, train, and mentor a team of F&B staff, including restaurant managers, F&B Assistants and bartenders. Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to foster growth.
* Customer Experience: Ensure exceptional guest experiences by monitoring service standards, addressing guest feedback, and resolving issues promptly.
* Budgeting & Cost Control: Manage the food and beverage budget, ensuring efficient inventory management and minimizing waste. Implement strategies to increase profitability while maintaining quality.
* Menu Development & Quality Control: Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team to ensure the menu reflects current trends, guest preferences, and seasonality. Monitor food quality, presentation, and consistency.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
* Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other hotel departments (housekeeping, front office, events) to ensure smooth operations and deliver an integrated guest experience.
* Staffing & Scheduling: Create and manage staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage during peak periods, while considering labour costs and guest needs.
* Innovation & Trends: Stay abreast of emerging F&B trends and technologies, recommending new concepts, products, and services to enhance the dining experience.
* Event & Special Promotions: Oversee special events, private dining, and promotional activities in the restaurant to enhance revenue and attract new clientele.
What we are looking for:
* Proven experience as a Food & Beverage Manager, F&B Operations Manager, or similar role in a luxury hotel
* Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
* In-depth knowledge of food and beverage trends, menu development, and cost control.
* Excellent understanding of H&S regulations and compliance.
* Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanour.
* Exceptional customer service skills, with a passion for delivering extraordinary guest experiences.
* Experience in budget management, staff training, and performance evaluations.
* A positive and proactive attitude with a hands-on approach.
* Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)
