Tessellate Bio Ltd. are a pioneering and fast-growing international biotechnology company focusing on targets to address cancers that depend on synthetic lethality mechanisms. We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our small Finance Team, initially on a part-time and fixed term basis (6 months), although there is potentially the option for the role to be extended to permanent. The role will be four days per week (ideally Monday to Thursday), and remote/ home based, with occasional travel to our office/ laboratory in Stevenage. Job Summary: The bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations, and supporting the financial operations of the biotechnology company. Key Responsibilities: Record Financial Transactions: Document day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Accounts Management: Process accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, manage invoices. Financial Reporting: Assist in financial statements preparation, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet and bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns, including VAT and other industry-specific taxes. Budgeting: Assist in budget preparation and monitor spending. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations specific to the biotechnology industry. Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the accounting team and assist with year-end accounts preparation and audit. Skills and Qualifications: Experience: Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably in the biotechnology or a related industry. Education: Ideally AAT qualified or working towards qualification IT Literate: Experience with Xero would be advantageous. Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements in the biotechnology sector.
