Role Overview:
The In-house and Client Commissioning Technician at Datalinx Computer Systems Ltd is responsible for maintaining the company's internal IT infrastructure, commissioning and configuring new hardware for internal and client use, managing automated backup systems, and ensuring data security.
The role requires proficiency in Microsoft technology administration, including Windows Desktop and Server, Hyper-V, SQL database deployments, Office 365, Active Directory, and network configuration.
The technician will also assist in deploying new support software, provide first-line support, and install/update Datalinx software on end-user systems. This position offers opportunities for professional growth and development within a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Essential Skills:
* Proficient in Microsoft technology administration, including but not limited to:
* Windows Desktop 10/11
* Windows Server 2016-2022
* Hyper-V
* VM creation and maintenance (Checkpoints)
* SQL database deployments
* Office 365 administration
* Active Directory administration
* Firewalls/router configuration
* Network configuration (DNS/DHCP servers)
Desirable Skills:
* Intune/Defender configuration
* Threatlocker
* Syxsense
Responsibilities:
* Maintain Datalinx Computer Systems Ltd’s internal IT infrastructure and applications
* Commission and configure new hardware for both internal use and customers (may require on-site visits)
* Manage automated backup systems
* Ensure all pertinent company information is secured in the event of disaster recovery (DR)
* Protect and secure all equipment as prescribed by company policies
* Maintain the register of computer and associated equipment
* Test new handhelds/tablets and compatibility with our applications
* Assist in testing the company’s software
Future Responsibilities:
* Assist in the deployment of new in-house support/issue tracking software
* SOTI/Knox deployments
* Datalinx package software installation/updates
* Provide 1st line support
* Install/update Datalinx software on end-user systems
Purpose of the Role:
* Ensure the protection and integrity of Datalinx systems and network
* Maintain the Datalinx network for efficient operation
* Provide technical support to Datalinx staff as needed
* Log and document incidents and best practices
* Configure and support Datalinx-supplied hardware for end users
* Install/update Datalinx software on end-user systems
Qualifications:
* Educated to a Further Education level - within a computing discipline
* Or qualified by experience - several years of proven experience within a similar role
* Have successfully worked within a team to deliver part of an overall team requirement
The Team: This role is part of the Support and Engineering Teams. All team members work physically in the same space and interact constantly to ensure nothing is missed or overlooked when the team’s developments come together for a product release.

* Hours: Full time, 9am – 5.30pm
* Location: Datalinx HQ, Dormansland, Surrey
* Benefits: 20 days holiday increasing to 30 days
