As a Debt & Benefit Assistant, you’ll play a key role in helping customers overcome financial challenges with vital admin support and meaningful interactions. If you’re organised, compassionate, and ready to help, we’d love to hear from you Salary: £26,657.94 FTE Contract: Fixed Term Contract until end of March 2026 Your week: 28.5 hrs/wk (work pattern is negotiable) Location: This is a hybrid role, where you'll be working from our Milton Keynes office at least one day per week, with the option to work from home on the remaining days. Snapshot of your role Collect and record referral information on computer systems. Allocate referrals to the appropriate adviser based on type, location, and urgency. Manage colleagues' diaries and book customer appointments. Process incoming post and emails, forwarding and filing them electronically. Handle non-advice correspondence with customers and creditors. Update case notes and monitor task diaries. Maintain accurate financial statements and case statuses. Conduct benefit checks and complete basic welfare benefit forms with customers. Conduct initial debt advice calls to gather information and evidence. Assist in responding to urgent customer needs, such as food and energy support. Conduct occasional visit’s to customer’s homes Carry out other administration and casework under team supervision. Your toolkit for success Proficient with IT, including Adobe Acrobat, web browsers, and Microsoft programs (particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel). Ability to manage a varied workload. Experience of working in a customer-facing environment. Excellent attention to detail Clear and effective communication Experience of welfare benefits or debt advice would be advantageous but is not essential.
