We are recruiting for an exciting new project. This is an opportunity for you to work with Midlothian Sure Start and partners (Parenting across Scotland, Children in Scotland and the Open University) to test the Open Kindergarten approach in the Lothians on behalf of the Scottish Government. We are looking for people who are passionate and enthusiastic. Following an induction programme you will deliver Open Kindergarten groups in the Lothians to families and their infants and young children working closely with communities, health and other agencies In return we offer excellent training and working conditions. This will include direct delivery which will include development opportunities (e.g. setting up new groups/making new connections) which will require the postholder to work closely with partners. The Development Manager post will include creating strategic links e.g. with Children s Services Planning Boards, supporting research and disseminating learning to all stakeholders. Experience supporting families, delivering family learning/adult learning groups or equivalent is essential. Project management experience is essential for the Manager post., None specified

We aim to give very young children (from pre-birth to 11 years) the best possible start. We provide a range of services through six centres and on an outreach basis. We work as a team at grass roots level, delivering a client-led service within the large semi-rural community that we serve.
