What you will do:
Tata Steel Colors is an international business with nearly 50 years experience in the development and manufacture of pre-finished steels. The steels produced by the business are applied in many sectors/finished products including building envelope (roof cladding and wall cladding), domestic appliances, consumer products, bakeware and other specialist applications.
Reporting to the Works Engineer, as Senior HV Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for the integrity and maintenance of the sites electrical distribution system from incoming 33Kv supply down to LV distribution systems.
The responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:
* Managing a small team which includes a HV Technician & Electrical craft and a number of HV specialist support contracts
* Identifying compliance needs and provide advice to the Engineering team
* Facilitate the undertaking of Process hazard Reviews (PHR’s) and bowtie exercises
* Specify the requirements and estimate costs for implementation of improvement activities including CAPEX
* Assess hazardous areas against published standards and regulations
* Specify and conduct risk assessments in accordance with the relevant standards
* Ensure that project work is conducted within budget and timescale and in accordance with procedures
* Monitor effectiveness of all processes and work with peers to modify procedures and implement change to improve efficiency and accuracy of work.
* Ensure Key Performance Indicators are established and reviewed to maintain compliance
* Deliver routine training for EIS 5 Tata HV rules & EIS 7 Tata LV rules (support will be provided)
What you will need:
The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering, and ideally be a chartered engineer or working towards a professional qualification. Alternatively potential candidates with an appropriate engineering background and experience demonstrating working towards attaining appropriate qualifications.
We’re also keen to hear from you if you have:
* Proven experience in relevant industrial or manufacturing environment
* An understanding of the Legislation, including Electricity at work regulations and management of Health and Safety Regulations
* Good interpersonal skills and should clearly demonstrate abilities to work under pressure in a team environment.
HV trained applicants are preferred for this role, however ongoing specialist training will be provided.
