Advert Drinking Water Quality Sampling Specialist (Permanent) (19/912) Hybrid working with base in Dumfries or Stranraer £16,218 - £16,492 Are you looking for a new challenge? If you have a good understanding of public health issues in relation to drinking water, then the Environmental Health team would love you to join them in this exciting role. This role involves driving to private water supplies to take water samples, which can be in remote locations across our beautiful region. We are looking for someone who has good interpersonal skills as they will be communicating directly with residents every day. You will plan ahead so that you arrive on time for appointments and take the most efficient route to ensure that samples are returned on time, keeping accurate records. You must have good attention to detail. You will need a driving licence and have good time management skills and the ability to manage conflicting demands. There would be scope to work fewer than 24 hours per week but working days need to be approximately six hours long and mostly in the mornings to ensure that samples can be collected by the courier on the same day that they are taken. A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged. For more information, please contact Mandy Friels, Principal Environmental Health Officer on 07827 886795.
