We have an exciting opportunity for experienced senior carers or care assistants looking to advance your career. You could join our incredible home care team in Nantwich as we are looking for additional senior carers to ensure that the care we provide is of the highest quality. Senior Care Assistants provide leadership to the team and shadow, observe, and mentor new care assistants. They also have a key role in developing care plans and carry out client reviews and assessments. Senior Care Assistants are also part of the on-call team, on a rota basis, dealing with emergency calls and covering care calls when required. Additional payment for the time you are on-call. Hourly rates: £12.90 for weekdays, £13.70 for evenings (after 6pm) and for weekends. Plus paid travel time and mileage for travelling between clients homes. We have both full and part time roles available. Purpose of the position The role is key in ensuring only the highest standards of person-centered care are delivered to our clients within their own homes. To act as a role model to support and develop our team of home care assistants, demonstrating high levels of care. To work as part of the management team, monitoring the quality of care provided and carrying out client reviews. Main duties and responsibilities To carry out needs assessments and risk assessments for clients with regular monitoring and reviews. To carry out introductory visits of new care assistants to clients. To be part of the on-call team in case of an emergency / out of office hours. To liaise closely with management in relation to the development of care and support plans. To be actively involved with the shadowing and observations of new staff. This includes shadowing new care assistants, completing their shadowing documents and providing on-the-job training of how to complete care tasks as outlined in their job descriptions and company handbook. To motivate and build the team with ongoing mentoring and identifying training needs of care assistants. To monitor all clients for service and care assistant satisfaction, including completing spot checks. To ensure accuracy and completeness of clients’ documentation held electronically. To manage difficult situations calmly and effectively. Senior Care Assistants need to work with the Care Manager to plan their diaries to complete care calls as well as providing support to care assistants and clients. This will include early mornings, late nights and weekends. The role is 80% field based.
