Administrative Assistant, Teacher Education Program
This full-time position provides support to the work of the Messiah University Teacher Education Program. Through this position, services are offered to all undergraduate and graduate teacher certification students, the Teacher Education Committee, and various public school interfaces.

Education Required: Associates degree and/or specialized training
Experience Required: 2-3 years of administrative support experience.

2. Ability to communicate successfully across departments and with various constituencies, including external contacts
3. Strong organizational skills, including time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
4. Expert computer proficiency including the ability to work independently in Outlook, Banner, Excel, learning management systems, and various databases as well as understand basic web design
5. Ability to work independently on complex projects managing significant portions with little to no oversight
6. Understanding of compliance regulations related to teacher certification.
Primary Duties:
1. Support the work of the Director of Teacher Education including calendar management, preparation for internal and external events, and basic research into teacher education.
2. Support the work of the Teacher Education Committee by creating, distributing, and archiving agendas, minutes, and other related documents.
3. Coordinate the collection of assessment data, enter data and run reports in assessment software.
4. Advise students regarding Basic Skills, clearances, and other TEP requirements; verify student program completion.
5. Assist with the collection and management of data related to internal and external reports.
6. Support the Teacher Education Program Office in creation/execution of mailings, program documents, handbooks, etc.
7. Manage Program-related files, data, and database. Develop & maintain appropriate contact lists.
8. Interface with various publics as a point of contact for the Teacher Education Program (students, parents, college personnel, external contacts).
9. Maintain and revise the Teacher Education Program website and social media pages.
10. Interview and hire TEP work study student(s). Train and supervise work study student assigned to the Teacher Education Program Office.
11. Assist with logistics for orientation and other informational meetings for cooperating/mentor teachers, students, and university supervisors/mentors.
12. Assist with coordination of work & events (coordinate details of meetings, workshops, student sessions, services to clients, etc.) for TEP.
13. Provide logistical support to university supervisors throughout the semester.
14. Generate field experience evaluation forms for all junior and senior field experiences.
15. Initiate payment requests for cooperating teachers, supervising teachers, others who support the TEP and its work.
16. Coordinate information and communication for students enrolled in TEP 439 Domestic and International Student Teaching.
17. Manage Teacher Education Program budget.
18. Conduct daily administrative operations in the Teacher Education Program offices including ordering supplies, telephone, photocopying, and faculty services, preparing meeting minutes, processing reimbursement requests, and purchase orders.
19. Create, adapt, and distribute promotional and informational materials including audio-visual presentations and hard copy materials for the Teacher Education Program.
20. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
Secondary Duties:
1. Coordinate work with the Administrative Assistant for Graduate Program in Education, Field Placement Coordinator, and the Field Experience Coordinator.
2. Other duties as assigned.
