The Records Management team is a small but essential service for the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust. We handle health records and subject access requests (SARs) from patients, third parties such as the Police, Solicitors and Other NHS Organisations, which are vital for ensuring that authorised personnel can access patient information.

What you need to bring is a positive attitude, great communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a desire to continually improve the service.
Your work base will be F Block Kidderminster, Kidderminster General Hospital, Bewdley Road, Kidderminster, DY11 6RJ for team working, with occasional travel to Worcester. The role is strictly office based due to the nature of the role.
Contracted hours: 37.5 hours per week over 5 days (7.5 hours) Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job
A typical day will see you working within the current legal parameters surrounding healthcare records; including the NHS Code of Confidentiality, the Data Protection Act 1998, the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Access to Health Records Act 1990, NHS Records Management Code of Practice, as well as relevant Information Governance Legislation and best practice guidelines.
You will create, file, and retrieve case notes, reports and correspondence, ensuring case notes are maintained as per the Policies.
You will use your interpersonal skills to process SARs using written and verbal liaison with patients, their families, healthcare professionals, and 3rd parties where necessary.
Archiving and destruction of health records pertaining to patients who are no longer in receipt of services is also a vital part of the role ensuring accurate health records are maintained.
Part of the role is general typing, photocopying, scanning, printing from electronic patient record system, alongside dealing with telephone, post, and email enquiries on behalf of the department.
If required, you may be asked to work across other Trust sites and record libraries.

Qualifications
* Educated to good basic literacy and numeracy levels, usually demonstrated by GCSE Grade C and above or other Level 2 qualification
* Basic computer training in Windows based software - preferably Microsoft
* I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Experience
* Previous experience in a healthcare environment, usually demonstrated by up to 12 months in a post with patient contact i.e., Ward Clerk, Medical Secretary or Administrator
* Previous Admin and Clerical experience
