Job summary Long Stratton Medical Partnership has an exciting opportunity for a healthcare assistant who has experience in primary healthcare to join our excellent practice, on a full or part time basis for a minimum of 20 hours per week. Working under the direct supervision of the lead nurse, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribes programmes of patient care. Main duties of the job Providing screening and monitoring services for the patient population. ECG recording. NHS Health checks. 24 hour blood pressure monitoring. Phlebotomy. Chaperoning. Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses. Monitoring and recording of vaccine/cold chain storage. Surgery equipment, vaccine re-stocking & stock rotation. Support practice nurses in the management of diabetic follow-up & pre-diabetic recall. We have completed our surgery expansion work with a new wing being added to include 7 clinical rooms. The reason for the expansion is that Long Stratton is being bypassed, 2,000 new homes are planned and therefore potentially 5,000-6,000 new patients will be joining us.
