English is very much at the heart of the OLA curriculum and we seek a well-qualified, enthusiastic teacher to join this key department to teach at all levels from September 2025.
At GCSE, pupils study Edexcel IGCSE English language and English Literature, and OLA Sixth students study Edexcel 9ET0. All pupils at OLA study English in Years 7, 8 and 9, and English Language and English Literature in Years 10 and 11. Pupils are taught in small groups throughout the school, and A-level English is popular.
We welcome applications from both experienced candidates, ECTs and those at the very start of their teaching careers. We support teachers who wish to complete an on-the-job PGCE, and this is done in partnership with the University of Buckingham.
