Mental Health Support Worker

£28,500 fixed term contract
Are you looking for a meaningful opportunity to impact the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges? We are seeking compassionate individuals like you to join our clients team and provide invaluable support to clients with complex needs. Your role will be pivotal in preventing acute mental health ward admissions and assisting those being discharged to transition back into the community with confidence and independence.
Your focus will be on identifying and addressing the specific issues negatively affecting the clients mental health and overall well-being. From helping them manage debt, find sustainable housing, and access addiction support to promoting healthy living and navigating various support systems, you’ll be their guide to a brighter future.
Empowering clients to develop practical life skills is a key aspect of your role. From budgeting and bill management to building resilience, you’ll equip them with the tools they need to overcome life’s challenges successfully.
Additionally, you’ll actively engage with the local community, forging strong networks of support to enrich our clients’ lives. Re-establishing and reconnecting them with their families and friends will also be part of your mission, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for their journey to recovery.
Qualifications and Requirements
To thrive in this role, you should have:
A genuine empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with mental health and complex needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients and the community.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment, effectively engaging with diverse support services.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and strength-based approaches to support clients on their journey to recovery.
Previous experience in mental health support or related fields will be advantageous.
A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
