We are currently seeking an Estimator to join our Highway Engineering clients. The role will be based in Cambridge with national coverage and comes with a salary of £75,000.
Responsibilities for Estimator
Prepare tenders and quotations from specifications and drawings within defined time periods.
Make site assessments and evaluate any risks and potential problems
Complete all documents and financial information.
Preparation of Tenders and Quotations from DNO Point of Connection offers within defined time periods.
Produce handover documentation on accepted work.
Attend meetings and explain project scope, estimate, clarifications, and assumptions.
Report on and review all projects with the BUD.
Document review.
Attend and lead contract meetings with clients and contractors.
Requirements for Estimator
Strong understanding of DNO/ICP
Proven engineering expertise in delivering technical solutions and costings for electrical and civil projects up to 132kV, on private or regulated DNO networks.
Commercially astute with excellent attention to detail.
Team player with strong financial and organisational skills.
Confident and effective presenter to senior managers and directors.
General knowledge of Health & Safety and its practical applications.
Reporting and Documentation Skills
Comprehensive understanding of contracts used in the building and civil engineering sectors.
Familiarity with forms of measurement, including SMM7 and CESMM3.
Background in Electrical/Power Engineering.
Degree-qualified in a relevant field.
