The opportunity
As our Accountancy and Finance Trainer in our Apprenticeships department, you’ll have the chance to make a lasting impact on our apprentices' careers, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the accountancy and finance sector. You will deliver engaging, high-quality training both in the classroom and through work-based learning, ensuring apprentices gain the technical expertise and practical experience to achieve their qualifications and succeed in their careers.
You’ll collaborate closely with apprentices and employers, tailoring training to meet the unique needs of each learner. You will monitor their progress, provide guidance, and ensure they are fully prepared for end-point assessments, helping them build the confidence and expertise needed for the next step in their professional journey.
You’ll also be managing a small caseload of apprentices, assessing their progress regularly, and maintaining strong communication with employers. You will conduct initial skills assessments, assist apprentices in securing work placements, and develop lasting relationships with employers to support ongoing development. Additionally, you will create and update personalised training plans to ensure each apprentice is on the right path.
Focusing mainly on classroom-based delivery, you will teach roll-on, roll-off programmes, including the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting and the Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting, with class sizes ranging from 15–20 learners. You will help apprentices apply classroom knowledge to their workplace roles, ensuring sessions are practical, engaging, and tailored to their learning needs.
This is a great opportunity to make a real impact on our apprentices’ careers, helping them develop the skills and knowledge needed for success in the accountancy and finance sector. You’ll have the chance to share your expertise, working closely with apprentices and employers to create tailored learning experiences that prepare apprentices for real-world challenges.
About you
We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in accountancy or finance, who is eager to inspire and mentor the next generation of professionals. With practical sector experience, you will bring real-world insights to the classroom and support apprentices in applying their learning to their workplace roles. Your passion for helping learners achieve their qualifications and career aspirations will be at the heart of everything you do.
You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong, professional relationships with apprentices, employers, and colleagues. Providing constructive feedback, monitoring progress, and offering guidance will come naturally to you as you help apprentices stay on track and excel in their assessments.
Organisation is key in this role, as you’ll manage a caseload of apprentices, coordinate assessments, and ensure that training is delivered to the highest standard. You’ll tailor your approach to meet the unique needs of each learner, ensuring they receive the support and guidance they need to succeed.
We’re seeking someone proactive and enthusiastic about professional development, who stays ahead of industry trends and best practices.
While experience in delivering apprenticeships or vocational training is a plus, your commitment to motivating and supporting our apprentices to reach their full potential is what we value most.
