The Role
We are looking for an Electronics and Electrical Engineer to work alongside our diverse engineering team and our skilled Mechatronics Engineer. Your role will involve developing cost-effective and functional solutions for our projects, helping us deliver advanced technologies while taking on more ambitious goals. This is a hands-on position that gives you the chance to own your work and bring creative ideas to life. We support professional development by offering opportunities to pursue professional accreditations and providing guidance in areas where additional skills may be beneficial.
Key responsibilities include:
* Design and develop innovative electronic systems that combine hardware and software.
* Work with microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and other embedded systems to create custom solutions.
* Build and troubleshoot IoT-enabled devices and ensure they integrate smoothly with larger systems.
* Design and test electronic circuits using lab equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
* Use sensors to enable advanced features and capabilities in our systems.
* Manufacture and assemble circuit boards, including soldering and cable routing.
* Manage projects by setting timelines and ensuring deliverables are met.
* Use circuit simulation tools (e.g., LTspice) to test and refine designs.
* Collaborate on prototyping using 3D printing and other rapid fabrication tools.
* Follow safety standards and best practices in all designs and processes.
* Support the development of power systems, including power distribution, energy management, and scalability for larger systems.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
* Early Career Professional (0 - 5 Years)
* A degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering or a related field
* Strong programming skills and integrating hardware with software.
* A creative, hands-on, DIY mindset with a passion for prototyping and experimentation.
* Understanding of IoT technologies and how to apply them.
Particulars
* Role Reports To: Chief Engineer
* Annual Remuneration: £27k – £37k (depending on experience) + Pension + Share Options
* Holiday Allowance: 25 days + bank holidays + Christmas shutdown
* Typical Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
* Permissions: Right to live and work in the UK, basic security checks may be required
* Commencement: February 2025 – March 2025
