We are a prestigious educational establishment based just outside of Farnham who are seeking a Kitchen Porter at a Supervisor level working Term Time Only to join our busy and friendly kitchen team. You will be required to perform and assist in a variety of tasks including cleaning, washing, carrying and other manual duties as requested by the Kitchen Team and Catering Manager, as well as performing supervisory tasks on behalf of the Catering Manager. We are seeking a Kitchen Porter Supervisor with a‘can do’ attitude to join our busy kitchen team. You will be required to work term time only, plus 8 additional days in the holidays for cleaning. You will be working Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm and in return we can offer an annual salary of up to £23,876 to work term time only (paid monthly), plus free parking, free lunches, holiday allowance and pension.
To be successful for Kitchen Porter Supervisor, you will ideally have relevant experience within a similar role, however this isn’t essential, you may already be working in a similar role and be looking for the next step up in your career to a supervisory level or you may be working in a supervisory role currently and have an interest in working in the catering/hospitality industry.
The main duties for the Kitchen Porter Supervisor will include:
To clean and wash up all kitchen and service items in an efficient manner.
To assist in the preparation of food as required.
To keep the kitchen and refectory areas in a clean and tidy state at all times.
To operate heavy equipment according to manufactures instructions.
To project a willing and helpful attitude to customers.
To be customer-focused at all times, approachable and quick to exceed expectations in fulfilling customer needs.
To treat your team members as you would expect to be treated.
To co-operate with all team members and undertake duties in the kitchen / service areas as requested to ensure an efficient and effective service is delivered at all times.
To attend health and safety and food safety training courses as required.
To ensure cleaning areas under your control are maintained to the School and COSHH standards.
To rigorously follow the unit cleaning schedules.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
To be the go-to person to delegate work to your team, as requested by the Catering Manager or Head Chef.
To organise the wash up teams daily duties
To take the lead in ensuring that food allergy information is up to date and displayed where necessary.
To supervise the completion of the necessary daily cleaning rotas and documentation.
A uniform will be provided and due to the nature of the position, it is subject to an Enhanced DBS clearance and the receipt of satisfactory references. You will have a can-do attitude, excellent communication skills and a be a strong team player. Exposure to Health and Safety, Food Safety and First Aid Guidelines are highly appealing, however again this isn’t essential. We are seeking candidates with a full clean driving licence as our location is difficult to access on public transport.
