The Role
A social media role within the video and publishing team, this position offers the chance to drive the growth of social channels and optimise content strategies for maximum engagement.
You will lead platform strategy, oversee high-volume content output, and work closely with cross-functional teams, including tech and editorial, to develop data-driven insights and impactful social campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute multi-channel social media strategies to drive growth and engagement
* Lead content planning, scheduling, and optimisation across platforms, with a strong focus on Snapchat and emerging channels
* Collaborate closely with the tech team to leverage analytics for strategic social insights
* Oversee publishing processes and ensure content meets daily view thresholds
* Manage and mentor a growing social media team (starting with one direct report)
* Partner with content creators, editors, and journalists to develop impactful campaigns
* Stay ahead of platform trends and best practices, ensuring all content aligns with audience preferences
* Monitor performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations
Required Skills & Experience:
* 4+ years of social media experience, ideally within a publisher
* Must have a deep understanding of Snapchat and other social platforms
* Strong strategic and hands-on experience with social media content planning and optimisation
* Analytical mindset with experience using data insights to inform social strategies
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Familiarity with LGBTQ+ content and entertainment is a plus
