We are looking for experienced duty and assessment workers to join our assessment team (CAT) at Solihull. The assessment service is made up of five assessment teams. Each team has 6 social workers and a family support worker. Teams are on duty for one week in five. Whilst on duty, you will be allocated both Section 47 enquiries and Section 17 assessments. You will be responsible for ensuring that any assessments and interventions are completed within statutory timescales, to a high standard and ensure that children are being kept safe and happy - with a focus on the voice of the child and strong analysis. Whilst on duty, you will be expected to be in the office, with your team, based in our Chelmsley Wood office. You will be working within a committed and supportive team, you will have a manageable workload and the opportunity to make a positive impact in shaping the lives of children and young people. Current Caseloads are around 12 families (which tends to be the most we try to allocate unless we have an influx of referrals) WFH arrangements are flexible. Social workers are expected to be in on their duty days – this will be one week in five and then generally around 1 day per week for their team duty. This can be discussed with the manager but otherwise, can work from home.
