Our client is looking for a Business Development Manager to lead the charge in growing revenue and improving gross margins through, marketing, and sales activities. You will play a pivotal role in managing the marketing and sale of over 3 million cubic meters of timber annually, ensuring that the best commercial value is achieved. Responsibility for forging strong relationships with customers, as well as collaborating with internal teams who handle operational planning and implementation. Your role will also involve engaging with national teams such as planning, environment, finance, and procurement to optimise commercial performance. Key Responsibilities: Lead the sales and marketing of timber to maximise revenue and reduce operational costs, focusing on improving gross margins. Manage the performance of a dedicated team. Build and maintain excellent relationships with customers, ensuring a responsive and high-quality service. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across our timber harvesting, marketing, and sales processes. In this role, you will have the chance to drive commercial performance while contributing to environmental goals. The Candidate: Proven experience in business development or commercial roles (ideally, within the timber, forestry, or natural resources sectors). Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop small teams. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and with external stakeholders. Driven to succeed and operates at pace. Full UK Driving licence. Willingness to travel extensively throughout Scotland.
