Job description
In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England. The purpose of this role is to be responsible for defining and executing the warehousing and transport strategy across the Safran Seats GB business in order to build a robust, cost efficient and service oriented logistics operation for internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities will include:
1. Establish safety first culture within the Logistics team, responsible for H & S compliance for all areas including risk assessment, equipment maintenance, documented safe operating procedure, safe manual handling and FLT standards.
2. Develop engagement and empowerment at all levels within the Logistics team through developing an upskilling the team, ensuring there is clarity of role responsibility and performance expectations.
3. Oversee all warehouse functions to deliver business targets, define relevant measures and ensure business and functional KPI's are met.
4. Lead the Logistics QRQC process and ensure tactical issues are addressed efficiently, complex problems are analysed and resolved in a timely fashion.
5. Analyse load and capacity forecast for the Logistics department and ensure sufficient resources are provided to address daily volume targets.
6. Develop the Logistics budget, monitor and report regularly on forecasted spend, deviations and mitigations.
7. Ensure that systems are updated in real time to reduce invoice queries and associated issues.
8. Account management for preferred freight providers.
9. Develop effective internal and external relationships, ensuring timely communication and a customer focus which meets the customers' needs.
10. Support the future plans of SSGB to ensure logistics operation is both scalable, fit for purpose and able to meet customer expectations during a ramp up.
11. Accountable for inventory accuracy, management and optimisation, defining and implementing the appropriate annual and continuous counting strategy.
12. Develop internal and external process flows for logistics ensuring optimal performance and alignment to customer needs and consider digital innovations to improve efficiencies in both service and cost.
13. Ownership and development of Stores and Logistics BMS processes and works instructions and review utilisation of ERP system and analytics tools. Ensure compliance to AS9100.
14. Manage and lead a culture of Continuous Improvement and work closely with the CI team to drive transformation.

Candidate skills & requirements
Candidate skills:
• Working knowledge of logistics processes across warehouse management and transport planning including management of performance metrics
• Demonstrable knowledge of MRP / ERP systems
• Experience managing a 3PL contract APICS / CPIM or equivalent
• Ability to lead and develop a team through coaching and authentic leadership
• Ability to communicate across all levels
• Ability to build good working relationships across department and with supplier & customer representatives
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of financial concepts combined with an innovation mindset
• Complex problem solving skills and ability to manage competing daily priorities
