The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) is seeking a Digital Information Manager within its Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) team, part of the Digital directorate. The KIM team is responsible for managing the departments knowledge and information, including ensuring compliance with the Public Records Act and other information rights legislation. You will be the KIM teams lead point of contact for engaging with teams across MHCLG who are developing new digital tools, including AI tools; reviewing and improving the KIM teams processes for embedding information management considerations into the procurement and development of new tools. This role will involve advising on information management requirements and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will liaise with other experts in the department as required, to ensure that information is correctly stored, accessible and shared appropriately, and that our information is protected, and any risks are managed. You will have KIM experience, excellent digital literacy and will enjoy working both independently and with a range of people. You will be enthusiastic about the benefits of KIM and be able to build professional relationships and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders to raise awareness of information governance. Job description As the Digital Information Manager youll: review and improve the KIM teams processes for embedding information management and information security considerations into the procurement and development of new tools, including AI technologies work with the Head of Information Governance and Information Sharing Manager to align KIM process improvements with the wider Digital process improvement programme establish mechanisms to provide expert advice on information governance and risk to stakeholders and senior managers to help identify key information management and governance considerations when procuring and developing new tools advise on practical steps for the mitigation of potential information risks liaise with other expert teams to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and standards, including GDPR, FOI section 46 code of practice and the Public Records Act. Responsibility for data protection compliance does not sit with the KIM team, but this role will need to work closely with the Data Protection team to align advice for personal and non-personal information establish a process for maintaining up-to-date guidance and communications on information management considerations for digital tools and external applications collaborate with key stakeholders, including IT, Cyber and Security Teams, to ensure a consistent message is delivered to the wider department Person specification We will use the essential criteria below to evaluate you during the recruitment process. SEO salary The salary for this role is £44,319 - £51,888 (London) or £40,669 - £48,509 (National).
