We are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), in a specialist SEND provision based in Liverpool. The school has provision for primary age children, age 5-11 years, who all have Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs) for Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Ideally you will have experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities including Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), and the ability to implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate. The position also includes working with pupils on their therapy or care programmes, designed and supervised by a therapist/care professional. You will have patience and resilience, and experience of working in a challenging environment. You will have compassion and be able to support the children with their individual needs, to help them individually reach their full potential academically and socially. This is a contract position to start as soon as possible, with the opportunity for a permanent position with the school in the future
