We are a looking for a forward-thinking Consultant to join our Population Health Division within the Directorate of Public Health and Health Policy. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term position providing maternity cover (full-time posts are currently 10 programmed activities per week; other, more flexible arrangements such as part-time, job share etc. will be considered). Your focus will be around leading and delivering approaches to health inequalities, health intelligence, public health improvement, and health and social care service improvement with community planning partners in West Lothian. West Lothian is home to just over 180,000 of Lothians 900,000 residents. There are good public transport links with Edinburgh and other neighbouring areas in Scotland. In addition to Lothian place-based work you will be the lead for public health consultant leadership of maternal, children and young people public health. Final remit would be subject to job planning discussions, considering your skill mix and that of the team. As a senior member of our team, you would help shape and lead our Place-based partnership work, while also sharing and learning from others across Lothian. In Lothian, we are working to a place-based model, aligned with Community Planning Partners including Health and Social Care Partnerships. Our priority themes for this work are around collaborative work to develop a sustainable inclusive economy, shape vibrant communities and support prevention and early intervention for children and young people. The main departmental office base is presently 102 WestPort, located in central Edinburgh with excellent travel links to surrounding areas. NHS Lothian currently operates an agile working model supporting a blend of working at home and days on site each week. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate who can lead a team, inspire partners and demonstrate the importance of a health in all policies approach to addressing population health challenges and public service reform.
