Job Title: Business Development Manager South Reports to: Sales Director Job Summary: As Business Development Manager you will focus on driving business growth by developing new and existing customers. Alongside developing new business from existing customers, you will build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, understand their needs, and present tailored solutions. This involves market research, lead generation, and networking. You will collaborate with international technical and sales teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction. Responsible for tracking sales performance and addressing where potential downturns may appear, analyzing market trends, keeping abreast of our competitors place in the market, and contributing to the overall business strategy. Package: Competitive basic salary: £40K - £45K commensurate with experience, with a target-based bonus scheme. Company car, mobile phone, and laptop provided. Duties and Responsibilities: Identifying New Business Opportunities: Explore new markets, clients, partnerships, product and service offerings. Develop strategies to successfully reach these opportunities. Retain and grow existing business and qualify new prospects. Identify different market sectors where our products and services can be introduced. Secure new business. Increase Sales Revenue, upselling and cross-selling products from the entire range. Client Relationship Building: Gauge the needs of new and existing clients and create proposals to address those needs. Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients. Offer bespoke training to suit the customer's needs. Pitch sales and products to both new and existing clients. Sales Forecasting and Team Collaboration: Create sales forecasts for inclusion in the October Sales Plan (Customer/Product) and actively work towards targets set to achieve the annual budget and GP Margin. Assist with R&D and sales teams to ensure customer requirements are met. Provide Weekly Sales Reports (including Actions to fulfill Customer Requirements). Work closely with the Marketing team - to maximise our sales reach via different mediums. Implement and manage a sales pipeline of prospective customers which will positively impact growth Play an active role in monthly sales meetings. Expectations: Take a lead role for the company in building and nurturing long-term, partnership-orientated relationships with both current and potential customers in your area, through consistently understanding their business needs, and how the BDM and Marantec can respond to these. Tailor existing products to meet customer demands and suggest new products to assist with the customer's development & growth. Develop professional relationships with all internal departments, ensuring that there is shared knowledge at all times in relation to the customer (insights/credit control/returns/technical, etc.). Carefully plan, prepare for, and carry out proactive meetings with customers at the required frequency, and by the required means. e.g. monthly or quarterly, via video conferencing or face-to-face. Ensure that all agreed key points are addressed during these meetings, and that opportunities for strengthening the relationship are identified and developed. Encourage customers to engage with Marantec products and services that can assist them including support for product training, marketing, etc. Provide detailed weekly reports on the previous week's visits with all customers in your area, to your line manager - in writing and via the CRM system. Carry out the necessary research into identifying ‘new customer’ leads, qualifying these as prospects, and working proactively to convert them. Maintain high standards of own knowledge in relation to Marantec’s products, customer segments, competitor activity, and the market generally; to enable effective and efficient Account Management. Promote Marantec - products, services, and personnel in a positive professional manner at all times. Maintain own professional and personal development to ensure continued enjoyment of the role and consistent ‘good practice’ delivery to the business. Play an active role in key project groups within the business, to enable strategic gains in e.g. customer centricity, and product development. Undertake all other duties as the business requires, in line with the responsibilities of the role, as may reasonably be requested from time to time. Minimum requirements: Relevant experience as an external sales executive or equivalent. Industry and product knowledge preferred, but not essential (Training is provided). Proven history of meeting/exceeding sales targets. Effective diary management. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are paramount. Demonstrated ability to identify new business opportunities and offer a high conversion ratio against those. Proficiency in MS Office/Google/Sage/SAP and CRM software. Full clean driving licence.
