As a Senior Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms LOB, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality architecture governance solutions for various software applications and platforms products. You drive significant business impact and help shape the target state architecture through your capabilities in multiple architecture governance domains.
You’ll lead and drive the efforts of passionate and dedicated teams of cross-functional, cross-product and cross-line-of-business architects and other stakeholders, to maintain an appropriate technology development lifecycle process for use by all engaged in the practice of architecture in the department. The scope of this process shall include components, applications and products and due to the federated nature of these processes you will need to work both at the Global Technology, firm wide level, and at the internal Infrastructure Platforms technology groups. You will own or collaborate with process owners to optimize the processes and procedures to implement an effective lifecycle for these architecture assets and to make sure they are appropriately communicated to all users and stakeholders. This will include partnering with colleagues to collate and run appropriate training, and keeping abreast of internal and external controls and regulatory requirements related to architecture governance and the technology development lifecycle, prioritizing them and incorporating them into existing process and tools.
Job responsibilities
1. Represents Architecture Governance in technical governance bodies
2. Provides feedback and proposes improvements to architecture governance practices
3. Guides evaluation of current and new technologies using existing standards and frameworks
4. Regularly provides architecture governance guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
5. Drives decisions that influence architecture governance, product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
6. Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
7. Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firm wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
8. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
This role will participate in the internal “Permit To” working group and develop relationships with all our application owners, assist in maintaining our data quality in the firm wide repositories of architecture metadata, represent our requirements as users of firm wide repositories of architecture metadata, report on and streamline all applicable processes, assist with maintaining appropriate portfolio and lifecycle management is done at different levels for our product, applications and components.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
9. Experience in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
10. Knowledge of architecture, design, and business processes
11. Experience in process management including optimization
12. Good written and oral communication skills across a wide variety of technology groups.
13. Understanding of industry-wide technology strategies and best practices
14. Experience in risk, compliance and governance management
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
15. BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
16. Experience in leading collaborative teams to achieve common goals
17. Knowledge of architecture governance frameworks like The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or other similar frameworks.
18. Appreciation of technology architecture, applications, and technical processes
