Part-Time Role - 18.5 Hours per Week
‘Foster with Slough’ is a fostering service graded ‘Good’ (OfSTED, 2021), linked to Slough Children First. We are a rapidly growing, energetic, and innovative team working alongside professional foster carers to support them in providing the best care for some of Slough’s most deserving children and young people, ensuring they are happy, loved, safe, and thriving.
Are you a dynamic individual ready to take our service to the next level? If you seek an exciting and rewarding role where your skills are valued, with opportunities for career progression and to support children, foster carers, and staff through intervention and consultation, we want to hear from you.
This position primarily focuses on therapeutic support for Resilience Foster Carers, an initiative aimed at working with foster families to support children and young people with complex needs arising from trauma.
Resilience foster carers help children transitioning from residential care to live in a family environment, providing long-term care. The role involves building resilience in young people by offering a secure base to develop attachments and thrive.
Children moving out of residential care may face various challenges, and the role involves supporting only one fostered child or young person at a time.
We seek a confident, outgoing individual who understands the rewards and challenges of fostering and the needs of ‘Cared for’ children. Creativity, initiative, empathy, and teamwork are essential qualities for this role.
Slough is one of the most diverse areas outside London, known for its pleasant environment, above-average salaries, lower cost of living, and high quality of life. Its strategic location near the M25, M4, and M40, and proximity to Central London (less than 20 minutes by train), make it an excellent place to live and work.
