The role
1. Training Program Development: Design and develop training programs tailored to the specific needs of factory employees, considering factors such as job roles, skill levels, and safety requirements. Collaborate with department heads and subject matter experts to identify training needs and objectives.
2. Training Delivery: Conduct engaging and effective training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques and formats, including presentations, hands-on demonstrations, simulations, and workshops. Ensure that training sessions are conducted in accordance with established schedules and that all employees receive timely and relevant training. Utilise a variety of training methodologies to accommodate different learning styles. Manage the logistics of training sessions, including scheduling, room setup, technology requirements, and participant communication, to ensure smooth execution.
3. Onboarding and Orientation: Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, providing them with comprehensive training on factory policies, procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols. Conduct orientation sessions to familiarise new employees with the factory environment, layout, emergency procedures, and key personnel.
4. Skills Enhancement: Identify opportunities for skills enhancement and career development among existing employees. Analyse operational processes and performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, incorporating these insights into future training initiatives. Working closely with site management to provide targeted training interventions to address skill gaps and promote continuous improvement. Mentor and coach employees post-training, providing support and guidance to ensure the successful application of learned skills and knowledge in their daily operations.
5. Safety Training: Develop and deliver safety training programs to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Emphasise the importance of workplace safety and promote a culture of safety consciousness among factory employees.
6. Training Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, evaluation surveys, and performance metrics. Modify training content and delivery methods as necessary to improve outcomes and address learner needs.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and employee performance. Generate reports to track training progress, compliance, and effectiveness for management review. Create accurate work instructions for the factory processes and procedures as required. Create and maintain up-to-date training materials, including manuals, instructional videos, and developing online learning modules, ensuring content accuracy and relevance.
The profile
8. Certification in training and development ie Certified Professional in Learning and Performance, Certified Professional in Training Management, Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) – PTLLS is essential.
9. Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
10. Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and training methodologies.
11. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
12. Proficiency in using training software, multimedia tools, and learning management systems.
13. Demonstrated organisational skills and attention to detail.
14. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
15. Flexibility to accommodate varying work schedules.
