Job Purpose
The postholder will deliver a proactive, efficient and flexible range of support activities to improve and maintain the social media profile of the Paul O’Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre (POGLRC). This will include maintaining the “X” and “Facebook” accounts for POGLRC as well as setting up and maintaining an Instagram account. The postholder will be expected to proactively seek content for the social media sites which improves the positive visibility of POGLRC online. It will require significant forward planning, interacting with staff and students at POGLRC, fundraisers, the Friends of the Paul O’Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre, and the Development and Alumni Office (DAO).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Proactive management of existing “X” and “Facebook” accounts for POGLRC, with regular addition of new content weekly. This should include, but is not limited to, publications, presentations, introduction of new staff and students, ongoing science, events, and fundraising activities.
2. Set up and maintenance of Instagram and LinkedIn accounts for POGLRC. This should include, but is not limited to, publications, presentations, ongoing science, events, and fundraising activities.
3. Active management of all correspondence relating to social media accounts (e-mail, mail, phone calls, social media).
4. Supporting current staff members to regularly update their online profiles.
5. Undertake other reasonable duties as required by the team.
6. Engage in reasonable professional development activities as appropriate.
7. Contribute to the enhancement of the University’s international profile in line with the University’s strategic plan.
8. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by suggesting service improvements and implementing new processes to enhance quality of service.
9. Use standard software packages including Microsoft Office, conducting analysis from relatively straightforward data where necessary.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Knowledge/Qualifications
Essential
1. A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework Level 7 [Advanced Higher / Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 3, Higher National Certificate] or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.
2. A2 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this post, having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role.
3. A3 Good knowledge of setting up profiles and using social media platforms.

1. C1 Excellent communication and customer service skills, operating with diplomacy and discretion.
2. C2 The ability to plan, organise and prioritise effectively, respond to changes in demands and/or pressures, delivering work to standard and within deadlines.

Terms and Conditions
Salary will be Grade 5, £26,038 - £30,505 per annum pro rata. This post is part-time (2 hours per week) and fixed term for up to 30 months.
