Description Salary £43,421 - £48,474 per annum | Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week | County Hall, Preston | Pay award pending International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship We are looking for an experienced ICT Engineer/Designer to join our Infrastructure team within the Operate department. Working in a busy, high pressured and large-scale environment you will be able to effectively understand and translate complex incidents into technical solutions. You can expect to be involved in a number of tasks and work-streams at any time, working in collaboration with other specialist disciplines and key partners to deliver a customer first approach to resolutions – these can vary in both scale and nature, making the workload extremely interesting. You will have experience in the relevant skill areas and be able to demonstrate equivalent experience in designing, implementing and supporting solutions. The ideal candidate will: Work as Senior Engineer on high profile, high priority incidents offering 3 rd line support to 1 st /2 nd line teams and customers. Manage incident process from end to end, including escalations to vendors, notifications to 1 st line, customers & SLT. Carry out routine security & maintenance tasks across the full estate of Desktops, Servers, M365 infrastructure, Cloud Applications & All software packages used on the Council and its partner's networks. Be focussed on delivery of all elements of work to agreed timescales and standards. Maintain knowledge database to provide accurate information to users at all skill levels of ICT ability. Lead smaller teams to deliver projects and provide support as required for other team members to enable successful delivery of operation priorities. Work with other technical and non-technical teams to support service delivery to agreed deadlines. In this role you will bring the following skills/experience: Experience of delivering the highest quality customer support and incident management, within the required timescales and to the required standards. Great communications skills with a desire to keep all stakeholders informed and manage expectations. Dynamic and positive attitude and an ability to work through obstacles and barriers; confidence to negotiate with stakeholders at all levels, with a focus on customer satisfaction. A desire and ability to improve processes; to capture learning from completed tasks to enhance the future performance of the team.
