The Head of Engineering is a newly created appointment with responsibility for all engineering functions across all European operations in the organisation. This role will be accountable for driving engineering excellence through leading a high performing team, managing engineering projects, overseeing capital expenditure and delivering transformation and value engineering initiatives. In short, this senior leadership position will ensure that all engineering-related processes and activities across all sites are aligned with business objectives, operational efficiencies and company standards. Championing continuous improvement, The Head of Engineering will lead the evaluation, implementation and integration of new automation technologies, machinery, infrastructure and production methods, managing the engineering CAPEX budget and ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability. Providing strategic and technical leadership, they will foster cross-functional leadership with production, quality, procurement and supply chain teams. This role will deliver value engineering initiatives to improve product quality, reduce costs and enhance manufacturing processes, collaborating with production teams to ensure the smooth transition of new product introductions. The Head of Engineering will manage a large, geographically dispersed, multi-disciplinary engineering team in a fast-paced, growing business. Ensuring positive team engagement, they will provide clear goals and regular performance reviews, taking ownership staff development through training, coaching and succession planning to meet current and future business needs. Applicants should possess the following skills and experience: Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role in a multi-site, ideally in a multi-jurisdiction manufacturing environment. Strong track record of leading engineering projects, CAPEX management, and implementing lean manufacturing and automation initiatives. Black Belt or MBB experience in lean methodologies (Six Sigman certification preferred) and experience driving continuous improvement initiatives. Proven track record in value engineering, manufacturing engineering, testing, and compliance processes. Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. Excellent planning and organisational skills, with experience delivering exceptional results on high value projects. Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities. A Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field). A Masters degree or MBA would be desirable but is not essential.
