This role offers exceptional flexibility, allowing you to choose how many days you work each week while focusing solely on teaching without the added pressure of planning or marking. As a Supply Teacher, you will deliver pre-prepared lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students. Your role will be to ensure continuity of learning, engage students, and manage the classroom effectively during teacher absences. Responsibilities of the Supply Teacher: Deliver engaging and effective lessons using pre-prepared plans, ensuring a productive learning environment. Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies. Support students with their learning, answering questions and providing encouragement. Ensure a smooth and seamless transition for students during the teacher’s absence. Liaise with school staff as needed to ensure the school day runs smoothly. Requirements of the Supply Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification is preferred. Experience teaching Key Stages 3 and 4 in a secondary school setting is advantageous. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to different environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff. A flexible and proactive approach to teaching. Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
