Job summary
Salary £25,355 (trainee), £27,008 (qualified) a year (pro rata for part time).
Citizens Advice Bedford is recruiting a welfare benefit caseworker to join our team of caseworkers. Ideally, you will have previous experience of welfare benefit advice work, but we welcome applications from individuals who have the ability and willingness to undertake training and develop quickly.
You will need excellent communication skills, the ability to manage your own workload, and be a great team player.
Many of our clients need welfare benefit advice, which can range from an assessment to ensure they are receiving all their entitlements to complex advice to appeal a decision. As a caseworker, you will be advising clients who have difficulty taking action themselves or who may be facing a very complex situation. You will advise clients in person, by video, telephone, and by email. Hybrid working with office, home, and outreach working as required.
If you would like an informal discussion about the role and/or to request an application pack, please contact careers@bedfordcab.org.uk.
Please note, due to the number of applications received, we reserve the right to close applications early. This is a fixed-term contract for 1 year with the view to extend in line with funding.
