An exciting opportunity has arisen for a secondment post/fixed term post within the Urology Department at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate with preferably some medical secretarial experience to provide a secretarial and administrative service within the Urology Department.
The successful candidate will join a friendly secretarial/administration team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for somebody with excellent communication skills that can work under pressure and be able to use their own initiative, with an ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will need to have exceptional typing skills and be fully competent in audio-typing. Excellent organisational and time management skills are essential to co-ordinate and manage clinical diaries, clinical activity and ensure workload is prioritised to ensure the best possible patient care.

Person Specification
Qualifications/Knowledge
* RSA III in word processing or equivalent/NVQ; Excellent standard of education
* Knowledge of Health Board's WPAS system and tracker/Radis; Knowledge of RTT and patient pathways
* Knowledge of medical terminology
Experience
* Previous experience as an assistant medical secretary or similar role
* Experience of working in a hospital environment
Skills
* Accurate typing and the ability to use an audio type back system

Salary: £24,433 to £26,060 a year per annum pro rata
