Role: Deputy Manager
Location: Erdington - Birmingham
Pay/Salary: £34,791 inclusive of sleep ins
Shifts: Rota pattern including weekends, evenings, sleep-ins, and bank holidays
About the Company
Our client is a dedicated provider of high-quality care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). Their mission is to create a nurturing environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential. This 4-bedded EBD home is situated in Staffordshire, near Birmingham, offering a supportive and structured setting.
The Role
* As a Deputy Manager, you will assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home. Your responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring the home environment meets the needs of the children and young people and complies with regulatory standards.
* Providing leadership and guidance to the staff team, acting as a positive role model.
* Supporting the development and review of individual care plans.
* Maintaining effective working relationships with families, social workers, and other professionals.
* Ensuring the health, safety, and security of all individuals in the home.
* Supporting the emotional and practical needs of the children, promoting their social and community involvement.
What You Will Need
* Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
* Willingness to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care.
* A minimum of 2 years' experience working with children and young people in a residential setting within the last 5 years.
* At least 6 months' experience supervising professional staff.
* Full driving licence (automatic/manual).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively within a team and demonstrate leadership.

* Ability to support and motivate staff, promoting a positive working environment.
* Understanding of adolescent behaviour and the ability to manage challenging situations.
