Key Responsibilities : Legal Support: Assist in managing and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents. Provide advice on charity law and company regulations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Support the legal team with charity registration, reporting, and governance matters. Assist in handling any legal disputes or claims, liaising with external legal advisors as required. Maintain and update legal documentation and files. Financial Support: Assist in basic bookkeeping tasks, including invoice processing and expense tracking. Support the preparation of financial reports and statements. Help monitor the budget and ensure that financial records are kept up to date and compliant with relevant accounting standards. Assist with payroll administration and employee expenses. Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and financial advisors as necessary. Skills and Experience : Previous experience in a legal or finance assistant role, ideally within a charity or non-profit organisation. Strong knowledge of charity law, company regulations, and financial reporting. Good understanding of financial administration, including bookkeeping and basic accounting. Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus. Desirable Attributes : A law degree, paralegal qualification, or equivalent experience in charity law or corporate law. Previous experience with fundraising or grant management is an advantage.
