Design Technology Teacher – North Manchester
A dedicated and passionate Design Technology Teacher is required to work at a ‘Good’ secondary school in North Manchester, to join them on a full-time basis, teaching key stage 3 & 4 from September 2024, on an ongoing basis, likely to be for the full academic year on a full-time basis.
You will be required to become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents’ evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. This school teaches GCSE and has a key focus on build knowledge throughout KS3 and KS4. You will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way, in tandem with AfL.
This is a great secondary school that has been ‘Good’ since its first inspection and has very clear expectation of their students. Pupils display positive attitudes to their learning in lessons and generally try their best. At social times, groups of pupils participate in sporting games together. Overall, pupils behave well and there is a calm atmosphere in the school. Pupils enjoy a variety of musical clubs and performing on stage. There is a raft of leadership opportunities, including being a mental health ambassador, sports leader or sitting on the student council.
The school has ensured the order of learning helping pupils to build on prior knowledge and to connect new ideas. The school has identified the important knowledge that pupils need to know.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree educated with a good classification.
Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT,, QTS, etc)
Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)
Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)
Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)
Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £
Provide a minimum of two professional references.
