Position: Freelance Architectural Technician
Location: Hybrid working from Glasgow office
Duration: An initial 6-12 months - potential to go permanent or be extended
Rate: £23-30ph
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Freelance Architectural Technician with a strong proficiency in Revit software to join our team. As part of our dynamic design team, you will play a key role in creating accurate and high-quality architectural drawings and 3D models for a variety of exciting projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details, using Revit .
* Assist in the development of 3D models and visualizations to support project design and presentations.
* Work closely with architects, engineers, and other consultants to ensure designs are accurate, coordinated, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
* Update and maintain project documentation, ensuring consistency and quality across all deliverables.
* Contribute to the preparation of technical drawings for planning applications, tender documents, and construction stages.
* Ensure all designs comply with building regulations, health and safety standards, and sustainability principles.
* Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery of designs and adherence to deadlines.
Skills and Experience:
* Strong proficiency in Revit software, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality architectural designs.
* Solid understanding of architectural detailing and building construction.
* Familiarity with UK building regulations and standards.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, coordinated drawings.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and project teams.
* Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and deliver designs within agreed timelines.
* A qualification in Architectural Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Desirable:
* Experience with additional design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite.
* Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) processes and workflows.
* Experience working on a variety of project types, including residential, commercial, and public buildings.
* Ability to contribute to the development of design concepts as well as technical detailing.
