Health and Safety AdvisorContribute to the implementation of the Zero Harm & Sustainability Action PlanUndertake planned & unplanned inspections, audits, joint tours and reviews of projectsProduce formal reports on findings and communicate these to the project.Contribute to local and national H&S projects (e.g. MSP, Supervisor Development)Be involved at the planning stage to support design teams to identify and control risk.Engage with site teams to identify safer ways of working using the hierarchy of controlDeliver on-going approved H&S Awareness Training to meet project and business needsActively provide support and guidance to the supply chain & subcontractors.Assist in the development of H&S case studies and best practice.Relentlessly pursue every opportunity to challenge the normAssist in the compilation of risk assessments and written safe systems of workSupport the delivery of briefings & toolbox talksEnsure the project is compliant with all H&S Regulations, Company Policies and theBMSProvide H&S advice and support at an operational levelEnsure lessons learned are effectively communicated across the Project /Business area.Support H&S work winning activities across the businessRegular communication and promoting engagement with stakeholdersSupport and maintain a constant focus on the behavioural safety programmeSupport their Project /Business area during near miss/incident/accident investigationsSupport the H&S upskilling and development of the business operational teamsPromote H&S initiatives and innovations across their Project /Business areaSupport the local & external audit programme across their Project /Business areaThe following qualities/experience are essential:• Relevant H&S Diploma, NVQ or Degree (or equivalent level 6qualification). May consider candidates with a certificate/qualificationcurrently working towards one of these qualifications with relevanton-site experience.• To have or be working toward Chartered Membership of IOSH.• Ability to influence and promote a positive HS&E culture.• Competence in incident investigation.• Strong understanding of UK Health and Safety RegulatoryFramework.• Ability to prepare formal written reports on HS&E topics.• Ability to undertake project planning and project management.• Demonstrates commitment to continual learning to refine, furtherdevelop and apply expertise to add distinctive value to customersand The company .• Broad experience of complex construction and civils project (orexperience from an equivalent sector).• Ability to engage and converse at all levels
